Last Year's Great Santa Run Brought Over 8,000 Santas to Share Their Good Cheer
LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Legends are passionate about two things: soccer and the community - their community. This Saturday the Legends and Legends Girls will be donating their time and energy to the Great Santa Run, a 5K put on by a local non-profit here in the valley.
"How can I be anywhere else," said Drago Sulejic, a Forward for the Legends who will also be running in the 5K. "I don't just get to do the cliché of 'giving back to the community'. I get to be IN the community. Hopefully some of them are fans before I get there, if not, we all shared a great experience. It's about them, and we come to support them."
The local non-profit hosting the event at one of Las Vegas' premier venues, Town Square, is Opportunity Village. The organization assists handicapped clients empower themselves to live as independently as they can. The Legends have supported several other non-profits to include Communities in schools, Springs Preserve, Susan G. Komen and Parents, Teachers Association (PTA).
About Las Vegas Legends
Las Vegas Legends are the newest member of the Professional Arena Soccer League, PASL. All Legends home games will be played at the Orleans Arena, located at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103. The Legends 16-20 game season runs October through March. The Legends' home opener is October 18th, with the regular season starting Nov 1 at home.
