Lancers Sign Three Players in Advance of Opener

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers today announced three signings one day before their opening game in Detroit. Additions to the squad include defenders Roberto Acosta and fan favorite
JP Reyes, and former US National Futsal midfielder Brian Knapp.
Acosta, 28, will bring his 6'2" frame to the Lancers backline this year. The former Norfolk Sharx standout has also spent time with Virginia Beach in the USL. Acosta has been training with the team all preseason and is expected to travel this weekend.
Former Lancers defender JP Reyes rejoins the club for this season. The 29 year old has been playing professional indoor soccer since 2007, and has spent time with the Orlando Sharks, Syracuse Silver Knights, and the Lancers.
Knapp, a former midfielder at UB from 2003-06, helped lead his team to a school record 14 wins in 2005 while also breaking into the National Top 25. He is eighth on the program's career assist record list and was named All-MAC in 2006. The 29 year old played professional futsal for four years in the FK-League in Korea with the Yes Gumi Futsal Club and for Gyeongsan Five Star Futsal Club. After leading his team in both goals and assists, he was brought on to the United States Futsal National Team.
