Lancers Set to Host Thruway Rival Syracuse at BCA

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers (5-4) will host the Syracuse Silver Knights (4-6) this Saturday, December, 22 at 7:00 p.m. The match will mark the third time that the two sides have faced each other this season and the first clash that features the Lancers as the home team.
The Silver Knights will be looking to continue their recent stretch that has seen them win three out of their last four contests. They have defeated Rochester both times the two sides have met this season, however both previous matches have come at the OnCenter in Syracuse where the Silver Knights are 4-3 this season. The club has yet to win on the road in three attempts.
Rochester meanwhile has recorded one of the league's best home records, going 4-1 in the early going this season at home, with their only loss coming at the hands of the unbeaten Baltimore Blast in a tightly contested match last month. Rochester's Doug Miller continues to defy father time, as he leads the MISL in total goals (18) and points (42) at age 43. Earlier this week the Rochester soccer legend was named to the MISL Team of the Week for the fourth time this season. A win over Syracuse would push the Lancers to 6-4, marking the first time in team history that they have been two games above .500. They currently sit in third place, four games behind Baltimore.
Saturday marks Rochester's annual mascot night as area mascots join to celebrate Lancer Louie's second birthday. In addition 1280 WHTK Sports personality John DiTullio will serve as the game's honorary captain.
