Lancers Raise $3500 for West Webster Fire Department

(Rochester, NY) -- The Rochester Lancers today announced the amount generated from last night's boot drive to benefit families of the West Webster Fire Department victims, reached over $3,500. The boot drive was held at last night's Lancers game.
West Webster Firefighters and their families were present at the game, on field for a moment of silence, and throughout the arena with firefighter boots accepting donations. A crowd of 5,203 came together to support those affected by a community tragedy and donate to the families. All Lancers in-game promotions also raised money for this cause. All funds from the Lancers halftime ball toss and halftime kicks went directly to WWFD. In remembrance of the victims, all players from both teams wore black arm bands for the game. Each team's coaching staff, ownership group, and front office staff wore black ribbons.
"The support of the community is overwhelming," said Kevin Crouch, Public Information Officer for the West Webster Fire Department. "Words cannot express what we're experiencing from the community."

The third place Lancers (5-6) return home Tuesday, January 1st at 4pm to face top seed, the first place Baltimore Blast (9-2). Game details as follows:
