Omaha Lancers News Release
After a record setting weekend at home, the Omaha Lancers hit the road for their upcoming weekend of United States Hockey League (USHL) action. After a franchise-high 7,178 fans came out to watch the Lancers drop the Lincoln Stars 4-1 this past Saturday at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, Omaha must now make its way to the IceBox in Lincoln this coming Friday evening. Omaha (25-8-2, 52 Pts.) enters the week atop the West Division standings with a three point edge over 2nd place Fargo. Meanwhile, the Lancers sit just one point back in the overall USHL standings behind Green Bay. Lincoln (10-20-3, 23 Pts.) enters USHL action this week 7th and last in the West Division and remains tied with Team USA for the lowest point total in the league. The Stars have dropped 10 of their last 11 games while acquiring just five of a possible 22 standings points during that stretch. The Lancers are already 3-0 against their interstate rivals with just one regular season meeting remaining following Friday's clash. After tangling with the Stars on Friday, Omaha then heads East Saturday to the Young Arena in Waterloo for their final regular season get-together with the Black Hawks. Waterloo (15-16-2, 32 Pts.) currently sits 4th in the East Division but has tallied the most goals (124) of any of the seven teams in the East. The Black Hawks have won five of their last six contests overall while claiming at least one standings point in seven of their last eight games. Moreover, Waterloo's only loss since the USHL's holiday break was a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the USHL's top team, the Green Bay Gamblers, last Saturday. The Lancers are 2-1 against the Hawks heading into Saturday's match-up.

NEWS & NOTES FOR THE WEEKEND
Omaha forward Matt White continues to pace all USHL skaters in goals (24), points (56), +/- (+25) and multi-point games (16).
Saturday's match-up will feature a pair of skaters currently tied for fourth in overall scoring in Omaha's Erik Haula and Waterloo's Brock Montpetit. Both skaters currently have 44 points.
Montpetit has been one of the USHL's hottest scorers in recent weeks having tallied nine goals, 10 assists and 19 points over his last 12 games.
Saturday's match-up will also feature two of the league's top three power plays as the Lancers are clicking at 26.3% with the man advantage (1st) while Waterloo sits at 21.3% (3rd).
Even though Omaha boasts the USHL's top power play, the Lancers enter the weekend having gone three straight games without a power play goal for the first time this season.
Friday's contest marks the fourth of five regular season meetings between Omaha and Lincoln. The Lancers have already won the season series claiming each of the first three meetings. The final get-together is scheduled for Friday, February 26th in Lincoln.
Omaha Lancers Assistant Coach Doug Johnson was announced today as the Assistant Coach for the West Division All-Stars at the USHL All-Star game in Indiana next Tuesday, January 26th.
While funeral arrangements have not yet been made for Matt White's father, Ron, if fans feel so inclined, condolences may be sent to the Omaha Lancers front office to the attention of Matt White. The Lancers front office address in 1804 Capitol Avenue, Omaha, NE 68102.
