LA KISS Look to Sweep the Storm
Published on July 8, 2016 under Arena Football League (AFL)
Los Angeles KISS News Release
The key matchup to look for tonight is between LA KISS defensive back, Clevan Thomas and Tampa Bay wide receiver, TT Toliver. Both Thomas and Toliver have had storied AFL careers and are among the best to ever play their respective positions. Thomas, who was elected to the AFL's Hall of Fame in 2012, ranks second in the AFL's all-time interceptions (81), interception return yards (1,026) and interception return touchdowns (15). Additionally, he is the league's active leader in both tackles (535) and pass break ups (159). This season, Toliver became the AFL's all-time career receiving yards (15,379) and receptions (1,172) leader.
There are two milestones to keep an out for during this game. Unsurprisingly, the first involves Donovan Morgan, who seems to surpass a deferent milestone every week. This week, he only needs seven receptions to move into ninth place of the AFL's all-time reception record-book. On the other side of the ball, defensive back Fredrick Obi needs just one and a half tackles to become the LA KISS' single-season leader in tackles. He would surpass the current record of 71.5 tackles that was set by Rayshaun Kizer in 2015.
