LA Galaxy II News Release

CARSON, Calif. - LA Galaxy II (8-4-4, 28 points) fell 3-0 to Orlando City SC (13-0-3, 42 points) at ESPN Wide World of Sports on Saturday evening as Orlando's Corey Hertzog scored his first brace for the Lions, extending Orlando's unbeaten streak to 16 games.

It didn't take long for Orlando City to jump on the score-sheet, with Hertzog tucking away Luke Boden's driven ball across the box in the 18th minute of play.

Hertzog completed his brace in the 43rd minute after a bit of splendid link-up play between Brian Span and Kevin Molino on the edge of the area. Span drove inside from the wing and played the ball to Molino, who cleverly flicked a no-look pass in behind the defense to Hertzog for a comfortable finish.

Hertzog had countless additional opportunities to score throughout the match, as the City front-line proved to be a continual threat for Los Dos, but the Galaxy II defense held until the 60th minute.

Orlando's third goal came when Molino tallied his 11th goal of the season which put him at the top of the USL PRO scoring table. The goal came as after Span chipped Galaxy goalkeeper Cody Laurendi causing the ball to rattle off the post and to a waiting Molino, who put the game out of reach for Los Dos.

Los Dos will now return home on Friday, July 4 when they host Arizona United SC at 4:00 p.m. PT as part of a double header with the LA Galaxy match against the Portland Timbers at 8:00 p.m. PT at StubHub Center.
