LA Galaxy II News Release
CARSON, Calif. - LA Galaxy II announced today that renovations to StubHub Center's Track & Field Stadium have been completed to better accommodate both players and fans ahead of the stadium's reopening for the 2016 United Soccer League (USL) season. LA Galaxy II will play all remaining home matches in USL this year at the newly-renovated stadium.
A new Supporter Section, new field dimensions and upgraded fan experience elements are now in place and await fans that will be in attendance for the stadium's reopening on Wednesday, May 4, when LA Galaxy II takes on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at 7:30 p.m. PT. Los Dos will then host Northern California rivals Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. PT in their second match at the newly-renovated stadium. Fans can go to www.lagalaxy.com/schedule/2 to purchase tickets for LA Galaxy II's games this week.
For Los Dos supporters, a new Supporter Section has been placed behind the north end goal to specifically accommodate supporter groups, although the section will remain open to all fans.
As for the players, the field at the Track & Field Stadium is now closer to the size of StubHub Center's Soccer Stadium. The Track & Field's jumping pits were removed to create room for the expansion. The dimensions of the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium are now 75' x 115' while the main Soccer Stadium's dimensions are 75' x 120'.
In additional to the half-time LA Galaxy jersey raffle, those in attendance will have the chance to be selected for participation in new, interactive on-field games with prizes during half-time. Autograph Alley, featuring Los Dos players and coaches after the match, will also continue for fans and the national anthem will be performed live before each home game. Additionally, 1,000 This Is LA t-shirts will be given to fans in attendance for Wednesday's match.
Los Dos' first game back in the renovated StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium will kick off on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. PT. Galaxy II are still unbeaten at 3-0-4 on the year. They're first place in the Western Conference and have scored the most goals in USL. Tickets to the match can be purchased at www.lagalaxy.com/schedule/2 and fans at the game will have $2 beer, $2 tacos and free parking available to them.
LA Galaxy II single-game tickets are now on sale to the public. Fans can go to www.lagalaxy.com/schedule/2 to purchase single-game tickets for the 2016 USL Regular Season. Los Dos tickets to each of the team's 2016 home matches can be purchased for just $10. Home matches at StubHub Center feature free parking for attending fans on non-StubHub Center event days.
