L.A. GALAXY BEGIN 2004 MLS CUP PLAYOFFS AGAINST COLORADO RAPIDS AT 6:30 PM (PT) ON FRIDAY, OCT. 22: With the 2004 MLS Regular Season in their rearview mirror, the Los Angeles Galaxy will open play in the 2004 MLS Cup Playoffs in a Western Conference Semifinal series against the Colorado Rapids. The series will be played in a home and home, aggregate goal format similar to the one utilized by the League during the 2003 postseason. The Galaxy will open their series at INVESCO Field at Mile High this Friday at 6:30 pm (PT). The Galaxy's MLS Cup Playoff opener from Denver Friday night will be televised on tape-delay, beginning at 8:00 on the Galaxy's Spanish-Language television partner – KWHY – Channel 22, with Elmer Polanco and Jaime Motta calling all the action. Galaxy fans can also listen to the match LIVE throughout the Southland in one of two languages: English (KMPC – 1540 AM) or Spanish (KMXE – 830 AM).

GALAXY VS. RAPIDS: A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES: The Galaxy and the Rapids have clashed 36 times during the regular season over the course of the first nine seasons of Major League Soccer. The Galaxy have captured 21 of those meetings, the Rapids 11, and 4 ending in a tie. In 2004, Los Angeles won the season between the clubs, winning once and drawing with Colorado in the other three.

The clubs have also met four times in the playoffs, with the Galaxy winning all four games by shutout, most recent among them a 1-0 victory in Denver on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 that gave them the Western Conference championship and propelled them into an appearance at MLS Cup 2002.

CLUB SET TO "GO FOR GOLD" IN FIRST HOME PLAYOFF GAME ON OCTOBER 30 – TICKETS ON SALE: The Galaxy will host the second game of their series against the Rapids at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, October 30 at 7 pm. As one of the opportunities to buy tickets to the match, the Galaxy is offering a "Go For Gold" Playoff Pak, which includes four tickets to that evening's game and four "Go For Gold" t-shirts starting at just $60. MAS GALAXY PREVIEWS THE 2004 MLS CUP PLAYOFFS: Más Galaxy, the club's Spanish-Language radio talk show, which airs each Wednesday at 8 pm on KMXE 830 AM, will give fans an inside look at all four conference semifinal series in the 2004 MLS Cup Playoffs. The program, hosted by Troy Santiago and Rigoberto Cervantez, will feature interviews with guests from both teams as well as analysis by both Santiago and Cervantez. Remember Galaxy fans, for the latest news on your favorite team, tune in every Wednesday night throughout the 2004 season to Más Galaxy, only on KMXE 830 AM.
