Chicago Storm News Release

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Dec. 29, 2008) - The Chicago Storm announce the signing of midfielder Kyle Lance for the entire 2008-2009 Xtreme Soccer League season. Per team policy, terms of the contract are not released.

Lance previously signed a three-game, 15-day contract to open the season to fill the Storm's 15-man roster. The Franklin, Wis., native played collegiately for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was teammates with Storm defender Chris Brisson. In 2003, Lance was named to the Horizon League First Team and the All-Horizon League Tournament Team.

"In three games, Kyle looks like he belongs," Storm head coach Steve Morris said. "We expect great things from him, and we're excited to have him on a full-time basis now. He has a great deal of ability. He's picked things up quickly, and he doesn't shy away from his center midfield responsibilities."

Next up for Lance and the Storm (2-1) is the Milwaukee Wave's annual New Year's Eve match. The game takes place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Earlier this season, Milwaukee (2-0) topped the Storm, 12-8, during Chicago's home opener on Dec. 20. Milwaukee leads the all-time head-to-head series, 13-12.

The Chicago Storm organization is playing its fifth season of professional indoor soccer. Chicago's next Xtreme Soccer League match takes place against Milwaukee at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee. The Storm's next home game is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at the Sears Centre Arena.
