Reading Express News Release
Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski reports today that the Second Open Work-Out provided a very nice talent pool. There were 32 guys who showed up for our second work-out along with a handful of local vets who have already signed who wanted to run around a little bit.
A player that signed with us on Saturday night is former KU and Pottstown High School grad, Justin Gibbs. We have been in talks with Justin for about a month. We wanted to see him on the field and for his first appearance on an arena field he did an outstanding job. Justin is a 6'1" 190lb defensive back and can go offensively as well. He tested out very nicely and in coverage drills caught on very fast to our system.
Justin is currently a teacher and counselor at Glen Mills and living in Pottstown, along with his daughter Alyssa. "Justin is again the kind of kid we look for. He works with kids, he is a father, a graduate and he is a heck of a football player, we look forward to his development."
