Reading Express News Release
Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has re-signed Jason Henley, former Boyertown Bear and Kutztown University Golden Bear Graduate.
Jason is a 6'4" 260lb running back for us. The running back position was new to Jason last year, especially being in his first year of arena football. His comfort zone in college was tight end. We felt he could use those TE skills in our backfield, both on blocking and catching footballs out of the backfield. Jason did a very nice job for us last season. He rushed the ball 22 times. Had 5 TD's and also had 7 catches. Considering that his primary job is to block blitzing linebackers, we were very happy with his production. Jason showed his unselfishness and team first concept in a few of our final games when he even took snaps on the defensive side of the ball at defensive end when we had some injuries there.
"Jason is another quality young man on our Express squad. A college degree, a family man (married with 2 children), works full time and still makes all our practices , gets in the gym and never complains. He gives you all he's got and plays the game hard. I believe the experience that Jason picked up from his rookie season should really improve his game this year," commented Head Coach /GM Nowotarski.
