Kristen Hamilton Voted NWSL Player of the Month

CHICAGO - Kristen Hamilton of the North Carolina Courage has been voted July Player of the Month of the 2019 season by the NWSL Media Association. The attacker scored 5 goals and had 2 assists, leading the Courage to a 3-1-0 record this month. They are currently second in the standings with 25 total points, only 1 point behind the first place Portland Thorns FC.
Hamilton was named Player of the Week twice in July, also receiving the honor in Week 12. Four of her goals came in a singular match on July 5th against the Houston Dash. She assisted in the next game on the game winning goal in a shutout win against Reign FC. She then notched an assist and a goal in a win against Utah Royals FC. Hamilton is second in the league in goals and tied for sixth in assists.
Chicago Red Stars Forward Sam Kerr finished second in Player of the Month voting. Midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo, also from the Chicago Red Stars, finished third in votes.
