Krajnik's Overtime Heroics Lifts Kenai River to Win

The Kenai River Brown Bears picked up three out of a possible four points this past weekend against the Minnesota Magicians and now find themselves in first place in the NAHL's Midwest Division.

Friday night - MN Magicians 1 @ Kenai River 0 (SO) - Minnesota Magicians goalie Wes Mankowski stopped all 48 shots that came his way through regulation and overtime, then shut the door on two Brown Bears shooters in the shootout to give his team a 1-0 shootout win on Friday. Brown Bears goalie Landon Pavlisin was also credited with a shutout, stopping all 35 shots he saw through regulation and overtime. Marko Reifenberger and TJ Sagissor had the shootout goals for the Magicians.

Saturday night -MN Magicians 1 @ Kenai River 2 (OT) - Brown Bears goalie Landon Pavlisin made 32 saves to help the Brown Bears pick up a 2-1 overtime win and move into 1st place in the Midwest Division. The Magicians got on the board first with a 2nd period goal from Blake Kryska. The Brown Bears managed to tie the game with just over two minutes remaining in regulation as Logan Ritchie found the back of the net. In the overtime, Zach Krajnik netted the game-winner just over two minutes into the extra frame. Magicians goalie Wes Mankowski played well in the loss, allowing just two goals on 47 shots.
