Albert Lea Youth Hockey Night & Post Game Skate The Bruins are happy to host a large contingency of hockey players from the Albert Lea Youth Hockey program. A 50/50 raffle is scheduled for the evening with proceeds directly benefiting the Youth Hockey Program. Following the game, the Bruins welcome fans of all ages onto the ice for the team's second post game skate of the year. This is your chance to take some laps with the players, get some autographs, and talk to the team. Bring your skates and a sharpie, it's sure to be a great time!
TEAM NEWS: The Bruins welcomed back a familiar face this past weekend when Connor Mylymok was returned to Austin on loan from the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. While in the USHL, Mylymok logged two assists in five games played and brings his signature power to the Bruins forward line.
REVIEW: The Bruins dropped both of their games this past weekend on the road in Bismarck. Friday night was much closer than the 5-2 score might have suggested with two of the Bobcats goals coming in the final minutes of the third period. Hugh Larkin and Carson Riddle scored for the Bruins who held the lead for just under a minute in the second period before the Bobcats regained control.
On Saturday, a three-goal first period for Bismarck doomed the Bruins who weren't able to come back despite strong efforts in the second and third period.
PREVIEW: The Bruins will take on the Wilderness at home this coming Wednesday, the third matchup between the two teams this season. Austin is 0-2-0-0 against the Wilderness and looking for revenge. Since the Bruins and Wilderness' first meeting on October 10, the Bruins have failed to win a game. They're currently suffering through a four game losing streak, something the home crowd can help remedy on Wednesday night. Following the mid-week game with Minnesota, the Bruins are back on the bus for a long ride to Minot where they'll take on the Minotauros.
Minot has only lost one game in regulation this season and have earned seven of a possible eight points at home this season. Austin on the other hand, has only one road win - an overtime victory over Aberdeen back in September.
