
Komets jersey auction raises $18,125

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets held their annual End-of-Season Party and Jersey auction tonight at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne and raised a total of $18,125. The net proceeds from the jersey auction will be distributed to several local charities.
Komet center and captain during the playoffs Andrew Luciuk's #25 jersey drew the highest amount at $2,700. Second was the #33 jersey worn by forward Kelly Miller which collected $1,225 and the third highest bid jersey was defenseman Rob Guinn's #24 sweater which sold for $1,200.
In addition to the Jersey's auctioned, $1,350 was raised at the party for Project Linus of Fort Wayne by auctioning a special Komet team autographed quilt made by longtime Komet fans Pam and Lisa Clark.
In an effort spearheaded by Komet goaltender Kevin St. Pierre, a customized replica goalie helmet featuring Komet and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation designs was auctioned for $1,350 to be donated directly to Juvenile Diabetes.
Jerseys and the special items of the auction combined for a total of $18,125.
