Knoxville Still Has Plenty to Play For

Knoxville NightHawks News Release

Knoxville, TN- The Nighthawks (1-8) are ready to hit the road against the first place Albany Panthers (8-1) on Saturday night.

Despite what the record shows, the Nighthawks have seen great improvement on the field over the past few weeks. Knoxville has become more competitive and lost the past two games by only two points to both the third place Columbus and fourth place Louisiana.

After last week's loss to the Louisiana Swashbucklers, the Nighthawks are officially out of the playoffs. However, they still have the possibility to influence the rankings and who makes the playoffs.

"Albany is a very experienced and talented team. Our championship hopes are done for this season, but we are working and building for next year now. So these last three games, we will be using for evaluation and development," said Nighthawks Head Coach Chris MacKeown.

This game against the Panthers will be a true test to see exactly how much the Nighthawks team has improved from the beginning of the season when they faced them in week five.

The Nighthawks will return home to the Civic Coliseum on Saturday, June 9th at 7 pm to take on the Richmond Raiders for the last home game of the season. There will be $6 discounted tickets for church groups of 20 people or more to celebrate Fellowship Night sponsored by K-Love radio station. Children 12 and under can also get in free with a regular priced paying adult. There will also be $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas available at the concession stand. To order tickets, call (865) 686-6106 or visit www.knoxvillenighthawks.com.
