Knights Players Win All Three Awards Against Barracudas

MACON, Ga. â The Macon Knights have announced that all three awards from Friday's game were won by Knights players. The Knights set a franchise record for points scored in an 80-65 win against Pensacola.
QB John Rayborn was voted game MVP. Rayborn completed 15 of 20 passes for 238 yards and six touchdowns. Rayborn also rushed for one touchdown. Rayborn tied the franchise record of six touchdown passes in a single game.
FB/LB Byron Douzart was voted Ironman and ADT Defensive Player of the Game. Douzart was also voted by the Knights' coaches as a Built Ford Tough Player of the Game. Douzart recorded two tackles for a loss, defended one pass and blocked a field goal attempt. Douzart's blocked kick bounced through the back of the Barracuda's end zone for a safety. The safety brought the Knights to within five points of Pensacola with 18 seconds to play in the second half. On the ensuing drive, Douzart rushed for a one-yard touchdown to give Macon a one-point lead at halftime.
WR/LB Tremaine Neal was also voted a Built Ford Tough Player of the Game. Neal played the entire second half due to the illness of a teammate. Neal was on the field for every offensive, defensive and special teams play. Neal caught two passes for 51 yards and one touchdown. Neal's 28-yard touchdown reception put Macon up 67-51 in the fourth quarter. Neal also recorded one solo tackle and two assisted tackles. Two of Neal's tackles were punishing hits â one was so powerful it knocked his own helmet off. Neal also defended one pass.
The Knights are back in action this Saturday, May 25th at 7:00 pm as they travel to Columbus for an American Conference Eastern Division matchup with the Wardogs. The Knights will be home against the Augusta Stallions Friday, May 31st. The Stallions are in first place in the division and escaped with a one-point victory over the Knights two weeks ago. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Macon Knights mini football presented by Giga, Inc. Fans are also encouraged to support "Black Friday" by wearing all black; those participating in this blackout will receive a complimentary coupon from Sonic.
