
Knights Hire Simpson as New Assistant GM

LONDON, ONTARIO: : General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that Rob Simpson has accepted the role of Assistant General Manager for the London Knights Hockey Club effective Tuesday, August 7th.
"We're excited to have Rob join the London Knights staff," said Hunter. His knowledge of the game and strong sense of the business world will be a huge asset to the club."
A Coburg, Ontario native, Simpson played Tier II Junior A hockey for his hometown team. He has coached at the AAA Minor Midget level for both the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs and the London Junior Knights, winning Alliance Championships with both organizations. He even represented the Alliance at the OHL Cup with the 2010 Elgin Middlesex Chiefs, a team that featured current London Knights Matt and Ryan Rupert, and the 2012 London Junior Knights. He also spent this past season scouting for the OHL Central Scouting program. Prior to committing to the London Knights, Simpson had accepted an Assistant Coaching role with the St. Thomas Jr. B Stars for the upcoming season.
A graduate of the Police Foundations program at St. Clair College, Simpson has worked the last 7 years with Shred It as a Customer Care Executive. He and his family reside in London, Ontario.
Simpson will be the main point of contact for all Public Relations and Media Inquiries - sharing the responsibilities with Marketing Manager, Natalie Wakabayashi.
