Rochester Knighthawks News Release
The Rochester Knighthawks announced today that they have moved forward Dan Lomas back to the active roster. In a related move, the Knighthawks placed defenseman Scott Campbell on the injured reserve list.
"I'm very excited to get the opportunity to be on the active roster again," said Lomas. "This is a very special group and I'm honored to have the chance to suit up with them again."
During his first stint on the 20-man roster, Lomas posted six goals and six assists in five games. He is still tied for fifth on the team in points with 12. In his professional debut, Lomas recorded an impressive two goals and three assists in a 15-8 win on Jan. 7 over New England. The Burlington, Ontario native followed that effort up by scoring his first career hat trick on Jan. 21 against Saskatchewan.
The Knighthawks selected the 23-year-old forward in the second round of the 2016 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. Before taking his game to the pros, Lomas was the most decorated player to ever play at High Point University. Three times he was honored as an All-American and twice he received Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year accolades. The attackman finished as the Panthers' all-time leading scorer with 159 career goals.
After being activated, Lomas is one of four rookie forwards on the Knighthawks' active roster, joining Josh Currier, Kyle Jackson and Josh Becker.
"He's off to a good start and has developed chemistry with KJ (Kyle Jackson)," said Knighthawks assistant coach Paul Day. "I am looking forward to getting his speed back (in the lineup)."
The Knighthawks will travel to play the Vancouver Stealth on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10:00 p.m. EST at the Langley Events Centre.
