
Knighthawks Launch Healthy Hawks

The RochesterKnighthawks, along with UR Medicineand Power Train Sports Institute, have announced a new healthy living program, "Healthy Hawks".Rochester native and Knighthawks star forwardJoe Walters, who will serve as the program's spokesperson, hasaccepted the challenge to help make Rochester kids healthier.
"I'm very excited about the 'Healthy Hawks' program. I think it's important to promote an active lifestyle at a young age. Our goal is to teach kids that being active and eating right will only help them in the long run.This program will provide kids with important information on how to live as a Healthy Hawk," said Walters.
Walters will discuss the various ways to stay healthy,such as staying active and eating well. Students will receive booklets containing health facts, ways to stay active, recipes, a player poster and a voucher good for a RochesterKnighthawkshome game. Students, along with their parent/guardian, can sign a pledge page declaring that they will live as a Healthy Hawk.
"We are excited to add 'Healthy Hawks' to our growing list of community outreach programs," said Knighthawks President Lewis Staats. "'Healthy Hawks' will give our players the opportunity to pass along their world-class training and nutritional programs to the school children of Rochester."
