Knighthawks Deal Accursi To Edmonton For First-Round Pick

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has traded forward Mike Accursi to the Edmonton Rush for a first-round pick in 2009 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
Accursi spent three seasons in Rochester and recorded 76 goals and 135 assists for 211 points in 48 games. In team history, he ranks eighth in assists and ninth in points. Last season, he finished fourth on the team with a career-high 77 points (26+51).
Accursi also led the 2007 Champion's Cup Playoffs with 11 goals and was tied for sixth with 15 points as Rochester won its second NLL title. Rochester defeated the Arizona Sting 13-11 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The win was the team's 15th straight and capped a 17-2 season.
The Welland, Ontario, native came to Rochester on October 26, 2004. He was acquired from the Minnesota Swarm, along with Ken Millin and two draft picks (eighth and 32nd overall), in exchange for Derek Malawsky, Brock Robertson, D'Arcy Sweet and the sixth-overall pick.
Prior to coming to Rochester, Accursi played seven seasons of professional lacrosse, including five with the Buffalo Bandits. In his career, he has recorded 528 points in 160 games. His points total places him in the Top 20 in league history.
