Knighthawks Championship Parade Tuesday

The Rochester Knighthawks will hold a 2012 NLL Championship Parade on Tuesday, June 5th at 10:15 a.m. The procession will start at The Blue Cross Arena and end at City Hall at 10:30 a.m. on Church Street. Rochester Mayor Thomas S. Richards will then hand Knighthawks Owner and General Manager Curt Styres the Key to the City.
"The Knighthawks winning the championship at home strengthens the pride in our hometown teams," said Mayor Richards.
Rochester captured its third championship, and first on its home turf, on May 19th at The Blue Cross Arena. The Knighthawks rallied from a four-goal deficit to defeat the Edmonton Rush, 9-6. On Tuesday, the players and staff will transport the Cup through the streets in a caravan of vehicles that will include wrapped cars driven by the fans.
Players confirmed to attend the festivities include Team Captain Pat McCready, Cody Jamieson, Mike Accursi, Joe Walters, Joel White, Brad Self, Matt Vinc, Travis Hill, Kyle Laverty, Cory Vitarelli, Craig Point and Jake Henhawk.
"I have a great sense of pride in being a Rochesterian, knowing how much lacrosse means to this region," said Walters. "Seeing the excitement of the fans lets us know how much the team means to them."
The players will be joined by Knighthawks President Lewis Staats, VP of Player Personnel Jody Gage, Assistant Coach Paul Day, Director of Player Relations Tom Cincebox, Athletic Trainer Steve Lobsinger, Equipment Manager Christian Shognosh, Assistant Equipment Manager Dave Sowden, Broadcaster Craig Rybczynski and front office staff.
