Philadelphia, PA, January 17, 2008 - The defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion Philadelphia KiXX will visit the Chicago Storm on Friday, January 18 at the Sears Centre. The game will be televised live on the Fox Soccer Channel beginning at 8:00pm ET. The KiXX hosted the Storm on December 8, dropping the match by a score of 9-2. Storm keeper Jeff Richey made 15 saves on 16 shots, and 2006-07 MISL Rookie-of-the-Year Stephen Armstrong scored two goals. KiXX captain Pat Morris scored the lone Philadelphia goal.
The clubs battled in the semi-final round of the 2007 MISL Playoffs last season. The Storm took game one before traveling to Philadelphia and dropping game two. The tie forced a "Golden Goal" sudden death overtime, which the KiXX won on a John Barry Nusum goal to move on to the MISL Championship game against Detroit.
The Philadelphia KiXX Dance Team will guest bartend at McFadden's at the Ballpark on Friday, January 18, beginning at 8:00pm for the Storm-KiXX match on the Fox Soccer Channel. All 16 members of the Dance Team will be on hand to promote the game, with drink specials and photo opportunities.
The club will return home the following day, January 19 to host the Baltimore Blast at 7:05pm ET at the Wachovia Spectrum. The first 2,500 fans under the age of 14 will receive a John Barry Nusum Bobble Head courtesy of EwingCole.
Philadelphia KiXX season tickets, 6-PaXX mini-plans are on sale now by calling the club's ticket office at 1-888-888-KiXX (5499). Season ticket holders will receive replica championship rings, as well as invitations to KiXX events like the Meet the Team Party and Meet the Team Luncheon. Single-game tickets are now available through the KiXX and the Wachovia Center Box Office, online at www.comcasttix.com, and at select Acme Market locations in PA and NJ.
