KiXX Head West to Battle St. Louis

Philadelphia, PA, November 25, 2005 - The Philadelphia KiXX (1-1) head west to square-off versus former player/coach Omid Namazi and the St. Louis Steamers (0-1) in the club's first road contest of the 2005-06 season on Saturday, November 26. Kick-off at the Savvis Center is slated for 2:05 pm ET.
The two clubs met for the first time in franchise history on November 14, 2003; Philadelphia defeated the Steamers, 7-3, in that contest and split the series (2-2) in each of the past two seasons. St. Louis, who dropped their season opener to the Baltimore Blast, 12-5, on November 19, enter the 2005-06 led by former KiXX player/coach Omid Namazi. Namazi led the Cleveland Force team than knocked-off Philadelphia in the semifinals last season, but then fell to the Milwaukee Wave in the two-game Finals. With Cleveland becoming inactive this season, Namazi was hired to replace player/coach Daryl Doran who is now listed as the club's Vice President of Corporate Sales and Alumni Relations. Former Kansas City Head Coach Zoran Savic also joined the Steamers this past off-season as the team's President. Former Force defender Genoni Martinez and St. Louis native Joe Reiniger currently lead the Steamers with two points.
The KiXX return home to entertain the expansion California Cougars on Saturday, December 3. All fans in attendance will receive a complimentary 2005-06 Philadelphia KiXX Team Photo, courtesy of Baum Printing. Game-time at the Wachovia Spectrum is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET.
