
KiXX Conclude Home Schedule with 8-2 Win Versus Baltimore

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia KiXX (10-19) defeated the Baltimore Blast (17-13), 8-2, in front of a season-best 9,684 fans at the Wachovia Spectrum. After the visiting Blast opened the evening with two quick scores, the KiXX responded with eight consecutive unanswered goals. Reigning Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Rookie of the Year John Barry Nusum netted the game-winning goal at 1:10 of the second quarter. Nusum finished with four points (two goals, two assists), tying a career-high feat that he has accomplished on three occasions, all courtesy of Baltimore. Peter Pappas (10-17) earned the victory in net for Philadelphia with 10 saves on 12 chances, while Sagu took the loss for the Blast with 16 saves on 24 shots faced.
Giuliano Celenza capitalized on a turnover in front of the KiXX goal to open the scoring at 2:51 of the first quarter, giving Baltimore an early 1-0 lead. Carlos Garcia extended the Blast advantage to two goals, 2-0, after netting an unassisted tally at 3:53. Dino Delevski put the KiXX on the board, 2-1, after sending a powerful shot past Sagu at 11:55 of the frame. In the final minute of the first stanza (14:19), Nusum knotted the game, 2-2, by finishing off a Chris Fehrle pass.
Nusum gave Philadelphia their first lead of the game, 3-2, scoring the lone goal, a solo strike at 1:10 of the second quarter.
The KiXX extended their to lead to two, 4-2, after Northeast Catholic product Pat Morris netted a restart goal from teammate Vlatko Andonovski at 5:41 of the third stanza. The Philadelphia offensive assault continued at 5:41 when Morris delivered a hard shot from the left wing into the back of the net; defender Drew Kopp assisted on the goal. At 12:41 of the third stanza, Delevski bombed a Nusum pass at the center circle bouncing over the head of Sagu to give the KiXX a 6-2 advantage entering the final period of play.
Philadelphia broadened their lead, 7-2, when player/coach Don D'Ambra connected on a feed from Kopp at 3:55 of fourth quarter. David Castellanos sealed the KiXX victory, 8-2, on a dish from Clay Roberts at 7:06 of the period.
The team heads west to the Windy City to conclude the 2005-06 season versus the Chicago Storm on Sunday, April 9. Game-time at UIC Pavilion is scheduled for 5:00 pm ET.
