Cincinnati Kings News Release
LUDLOW, MASS --The Cincinnati Kings put the brakes on their four-game losing streak by playing the Western Mass Pioneers to a 0-0 tie Saturday night at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, Mass. The Kings attacked early, with eight shots on goal in the first half, to the Pioneers' two. The Kings outshot Western Mass for the game, 10 to 7. "It was total domination in the first half, but we just couldn't score," said Head Coach Jon Pickup. "We had excellent play up until the final 10 yards of the field. The guys worked really hard, and worked well as a team." Cincinnati goaltender Brian Schaeper made five saves, all in the second half. The tie brings the Kings record to 3-4-3 in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division. The Kings' next game will be in Indianapolis on Wednesday, June 15 as the Kings begin U.S. Open cup play against the Indiana Reggae Boyz in first round playoff action.
