Kilgour Named Coach of the Year

Bandits coach leads team to a 12-4 record and return to the Playoffs
Buffalo Bandits Head Coach Darris Kilgour has been named Head Coach of the Year for 2002-03 regular season. In his first season as head coach of the Bandits, Kilgour led his team to 12-4 regular season record, an improvement of four games on the team's 8-8 record from the previous season. The Bandits also made their first playoff appearance since the 2000 season. Kilgour has now reached the playoffs in all three of his seasons as a head coach in the NLL, leading the former Washington Power franchise to the post-season in 2001 and 2002.
The coaching success marks another chapter in the proud history between Kilgour and the Buffalo Bandits. As a player, the Niagara Falls, New York native was the first-ever draft choice of the Bandits (1991 Entry Draft) and was a three time All-Pro. Kilgour played on all three Bandits Championship teams, 1992, 1993 and 1996.
National Lacrosse League awards are determined by a vote of the Governors, General Managers and Head Coaches of the twelve member clubs.
