Chesapeake Bayhawks News Release
ANNAPOLIS, MD - Rookie attackman Kevin Cooper collected Cascade Rookie of the Week for week 10 of the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) season. The rookie made an impressive professional debut, totaling four points on three goals and an assist to help the Chesapeake Bayhawks pull out a 13-12 victory over the Ohio Machine at Selby Stadium.
The 16th overall draft pick stems from the University of Maryland, and wasted no time inserting himself into a seasoned and talented Bayhawks offense. Chesapeake improved to 6-4 with the win, and will next host the Boston Cannons on Thursday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m. (ET). Cooper was also named the Brine Player of the Game.
"Kevin played both attack and midfield and played a very smart game," head coach Dave Cottle said of the debut performance. "He has been practicing extremely well and really helped us big time to win the game against the Machine."
