Kentucky Mavericks News Release
Bowling Green, KY. The new ABA Kentucky Mavericks today announced that they would hold their first Open Tryouts July 7th-9th at Phil Moore Park, 7101 Scottsville Road, past the IGA towards Alvaton from July 7th thru the 9th. The registration fee for this early event is only $25 and the tryouts will be conducted by newly signed head coach Vincent Askew, the former Seattle Supersonic guard/forward and assistant coach Otis Key, a former Harlem Globetrotter.
"We thought we would have an early tryout and see what kind of talent is in the area," stated team owner Jason Smith. "Not much notice, but our phones have rung off the hook from players since the announcement. To make it a little more interesting, we're going to give a $2000 sign-on bonus to the most impressive player. That should be enough incentive for everyone to bring his best game."
