
Kelowna Falcons Fall to AppleSox

Kelowna, BC: The Kelowna Falcons were blasted by the Wenatchee Applesox on Sunday night, losing 17-8.
The Sox would jump on the Falcons early with four runs through the first three innings, scoring one in the first, two in the second and one more in the third.
The Falcons would answer and tie the game in the bottom of the fourth with four runs. Kyle Pearson (28) and Tucker Alexander (12) would collect RBIs.
With the score tied at four in the top of the fifth the Sox exploded for nine runs, assisted by six walks and a hit batter. The Sox would send 14 men to the plate, with the first out not recorded until the 11th batter. Each player in the line up scored a run in the inning.
The Falcons inched back with two runs in the home half of the fifth, getting RBIs from Andrew Firth (21) and Pearson (29).
In the bottom of the seventh the Falcons would add two more runs with RBI hits from Jonathan Munoz (1) and Troy Conyers (6).
The Sox finished their night scoring one in the seventh, two in the eighth and one in the ninth.
The Falcons pitching staff offered 14 walks on Sunday and hit a batter. Following the game the staff now leads the West Coast League with 177 walks.
The Falcons (26-20) fall two games back of the final playoff spot in the East and four games back of the first place Applesox (29-15).
Game two of this critical series goes Monday night, as Cale Coshow gets the start for the Falcons. The gates open at 5:30pm, the first pitch set for 6:35pm.
