
Kelowna Falcons Beat Wenatchee

Reed Lavallee would knock in three runs and Jarryd Klemm would collect four hits as the Kelowna Falcons beat the Wenatchee Applesox 7-5 on Friday night.
The Falcons jumped out a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Lavallee drove in two runs on a single to left field.
After the first place Applesox tied the game in the top of the third, the Falcons would regain the lead in the bottom of the inning. Nolan Johnson knocked in Darren Kolk and Lavallee doubled home Klemm to give the home side a 4-2 lead.
Again the Sox would tie the game scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings against starter Jake Phillips.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Falcons would collect their third two run inning. Johnson and Klemm would score on back to back wild pitches off Sox starter Davis Engel.
After the Applesox climbed within one in the sixth, the Falcons scored a much needed insurance run in the bottom of the seventh. Klemm would begin the inning with his fourth hit of the night, and would eventually score on an RBI single from Scotland Church.
The Falcons would outhit the Sox 14-10 to win their 18th game of the year.
Phillips records his second win of the summer (2-2), while Tyler Dunnington tallied his first save.
Game 2 of the series is Saturday night at Elks Stadium at 6:35pm. Darren Kolk makes his first start of the year.
