Kelowna Falcons News Release
The Kelowna Falcons and the West Coast League (WCL) are proud to announce that pitcher Brandon Marris has been named the WCL Player of the Week.
This past week, Marris helped the Falcons take two series, beating Wenatchee on the road and Kitsap at home.
Marris appeared three times and only allowed one run over 12 2/3 innings pitched, and tossed a two-hit complete game shutout vs. the BlueJackets this past Friday to earn Player of the Week honours.
Brandon pitched at Eastern Oklahoma State as a frosh and last spring at Murray State College (JC) in Oklahoma.
This summer, Marris is 2-4 over 22 appearances, 7 starts and 74 1/3 innings pitched (new team record). The right-hander has posted a 3.39 ERA while striking out 64 batters (new team record) and recording one save for the Falcons.
The Falcons begin their final home series of the summer tonight against the Bellingham Bells. The gates open at 5:30pm, first pitch at 6:35pm at Elks Stadium. It's also Dollar Dog Night, all hotdogs are only $1.00.
