Kelly, a standout face-off midfielder in the MLL also faced off and played defense this winter in the NLL for the New York Titans.
"It is an honor to represent the United States while playing this great game of lacrosse" said Kelly upon learning he had made the travel squad. "It will be a privilege to wear the red, white, and blue while playing in the World Games next month. I look forward to representing my country and family, as well as both the New York Titans and my MLL team, the L.A. Riptide. Everyone has been very supportive of this great opportunity, and I want to make the best of it while in Nova Scotia and bring home the gold."

The experience he will have in Nova Scotia representing the United States will soon become a life-long memory he will cherish. I am certain he will represent the Riptide and the great state of Ohio with a great deal of pride and competitive spirit."
The Riptide will open the 2007 season on the road at the Chicago Machine on May 19 at Toyota Park. The Riptide's home opener will be on May 27 against the New Jersey Pride at 7:00 pm at The Home Depot Center in Carson.
