
Kelly Cup Visits Reading Wednesday

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Kelly Cup will be displayed at the Sovereign Center
on Wednesday when the Reading Royals host the Peoria Rivermen for Game 3 of
the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs Northern Division Finals.
The Patrick J. Kelly Cup has been awarded to the ECHL postseason champion
since 1996-97 and features the names of players, coaches and support staff
from the last seven league champions. Accompanying the Kelly Cup will be a
special display that highlights the intensity and excitement of the Kelly
Cup Playoffs.
The Royals won 2-1 in overtime at Peoria on Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in
the best-of-five series with Game 2 scheduled for Monday at Peoria.
Each of the teams in the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs have been offered the
opportunity to have the Kelly Cup to display during games as well as making
appearances at schools, sponsors, radio and television stations and
community events.
The inaugural Kelly Cup Tour concluded on April 5 in Atlantic City after
visiting 10 cities and traveling 7,543 miles in 44 days.
