JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (December 9, 2005) - KB Home, one of the nation's premier homebuilders and northeast Florida's second largest homebuilder, and The Jacksonville Barracudas, Jacksonville's professional ice hockey team, have teamed up for "A Night of Giving." The event will be held on Saturday night, December 10, 2005, when the Barracudas face-off against the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:00 pm.

KB Home and the Barracudas are dedicating the night of hockey and festivities to locally enrolled students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Each student will receive complimentary admission, dinner, participation in the on ice chuck-a-puck event and a behind the scenes meet and greet with Barracuda Hockey

Stars.

KB Home and the Barracudas are also asking hockey fans attending the match to bring a new unwrapped toy to show support for other local Jacksonville families in need. KB Home will be

collecting toys at the arena entrance as part of its fourth annual United Way Toy Drive. Toys collected will be distributed to United Way certified agencies. To show hockey fans their appreciation, the first 2000 attendees will receive a souvenir Barracudas KB Home hockey puck.

"We wanted to create a memorable fun-filled night for students displaced by Hurricane Katrina, many of whom are now calling Jacksonville home," said Vince DePorre KB Home president of North Florida. "The holidays are a great time for everyone in the community to do something to help those less fortunate than ourselves and we hope this event will jumpstart a season of giving and help us collect plenty of toys to benefit Jacksonville's children"

Teaming with KB Home for the "Night of Giving" was a perfect way for the Jacksonville Barracudas to embark on the holiday season of giving," said Ken Vezina, Director of Public Relations for the Jacksonville Barracudas. "Asking our hockey fans to bring unwrapped toys in support of KB Home's fourth United Way toy drive allows everyone to help make a difference this holiday season for Jacksonville children and families in need," continued Vezina.

"We are pleased to partner with KB Home on their toy drive for the fourth year in a row," said Janet Owens, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the United Way. "KB Home continues to be a company that cares about giving back to those living in our community," continued Owens.
