Saint John Riptide News Release

Manchester, New Hampshire - December 6, 2007 - Kate Sullivan will be the Community All Star at the Millrats game this Saturday when the Boston Blizzard come to town!

Kate is the Assistant Principal at Londonderry (NH) High School (House 4). She played varsity girls basketball all four years when she was a student at LHS, and won a NH State Championship in 1990. Following high school, she went on to play in college at Keene State where she earned a bachelor's in Physical Education and a Master's in Administration. She also earned a Master's degree in Counseling at Notre Dame.

The "13th Man Rule" in the ABA allows each home team to dress, in game uniform, a local celebrity or community role model and participate in the actual ABA game. This may include sitting on the bench, playing in the game, and being in the layup line.

Saturday's game is at 7:05 pm at the Fieldhouse on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University. It features a rematch with crosstown rival, the Boston Blizzard. The Blizzard are currently 4-4 and are in second place in the Blue North Division, behind the 8-1 Manchester Millrats. The Blizzard feature former Boston College point guard Steve Hailey, and Salem State (MA) All-American guard Eric Downie. The Millrats defeated the Blizzard on opening night 127-112. The Blizzard are no doubt looking for payback!

The Manchester Millrats also host doubleheader ABA action this weekend at the Fieldhouse on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), as the Boston Blizzard visit on Saturday at 7:05 pm. ON SUNDAY, former SNHU star guard Bobby Miller and the Montreal Royal will make their second visit to Manchester at 4:35 pm. Tickets are available at the door, online at www.manchestermillrats.com, or by calling 866-9-GET TIX. Doors open one hour prior to tip time and all tickets are under $10.

All Manchester Millrats games are 'events'. Each game is headlined by a host of entertainment and family fun including exciting basketball, music, live singer(s), our mascot - Milly the Millrat, the Pink Sapphire Dancers, fun contests, a halftime show, and the Spindel Eye Associates $10,000 Hot Shot Challenge!
