
Kastles Tickets Selling Fast; 2015 Season Preview; Murphy Returns; Kastles Fans Take over Twitter

Washington Kastles News Release
Don't look now but Washington Kastles tickets are on sale to the general public and going FAST!
A record number of tickets were sold during our E-mail subscriber presale May 15-18.
Courtside Chairback seats for matches featuring Venus Williams on July 14 and Serena Williams on July 21 are currently sold-out, as are Baseline Club seats for Martina Hingis' return on July 26. Tickets are available but going quickly in other sections on those nights, including the one-of-a-kind Baseline Experience.
Fans in the Baseline Experience are seated so close to the court that they could catch a Sam Querrey ace or interact with Kastles captain Leander Paes. In-seat food and beverage service and pre-match VIP hospitality access come with each Baseline Experience ticket, which start at $100.
Individual match tickets are also available in the upper-level Grandstand sections for as little as $12.

ACE to WATCH: World No. 21 doubles player Alla Kudryavtseva
PREVIEW: Venus Williams kicks off the Kastles' quest for the first 5-Peat in Mylan WTT history against Top 100 player Nicole Gibbs in women's singles. Former partners Anastasia Rodionova and Alla Kudryavtseva will go head-to-head in women's doubles. Rodionova and Kudryavtseva have not shared a court since splitting at the end of the 2014 WTA season. Austin also features former UVA star Jarmere Jenkins.

AVIATOR to WATCH: World No. 29 doubles player Raven Klaasen
PREVIEW: The Kastles' only home loss of 2014 came to the Aviators, who are led once again by Raven Klaasen. At the start of the 2015 ATP season, Klaasen was partners with Washington's Leander Paes. They won the Auckland title and reached two other finals before breaking up in March. Madison Brengle makes her home debut for the Kastles, while third-ranked junior Taylor Fritz plays singles and doubles for San Diego.

FREEDOM to WATCH: World No. 3 doubles player Marcelo Melo
PREVIEW: The Kastles defeated the Freedoms eight straight times before losing a pair of matches in Philadelphia during the 2014 regular season. They met again for the Eastern Conference Championship, which Washington won 21-16 at Kastles Stadium. Reigning Mylan WTT Male MVP Marcelo Melo, 19-year-old Taylor Townsend and former World No. 1 doubles player Liezel Huber return this season for the Freedoms.

LOBSTER to WATCH: World No. 84 singles player Irina Falconi
PREVIEW: The most-anticipated match of the season sees Serena Williams return to Kastles Stadium for the first time since 2011 and Sam Querrey make his home debut. Washington has won nine consecutive matches featuring Serena, who is 25-1 on tour this season. Querrey, meanwhile, will fill the shoes of former Kastles closer Bobby Reynolds, who retired after winning his fourth consecutive Mylan WTT title in 2014.

LASER to WATCH: World No. 46 singles player Alison Riske
PREVIEW: Hall-of-Famer Martina Hingis returns to Kastles Stadium on back-to-back nights, beginning with a Mylan WTT Finals rematch against Springfield. Hingis earned MVP honors by winning all three of her sets in last season's championship match. This time around, the Swiss will be challenged by brand-new Laser Alison Riske, who won her first WTA title last October by beating Hingis' protégé Belinda Bencic in Tianjin.
MON. 7/27 vs. CALIFORNIA DREAM TIX: $12-$100

DREAM to WATCH: World No. 52 singles player Jarmila Gajdosova
PREVIEW: By the time Hingis and Paes play mixed doubles for the Kastles on July 26 and July 27, they could be the reigning Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon champions. That's how good they are as a team. The Swiss/Indian duet did not drop a set en route to the 2015 Australian Open title and posted a 17-2 record for the Kastles in 2013 and 2014. The California Dream were previously known as the Texas Wild.

LOBSTER to WATCH: World No. 6 singles player Eugenie Bouchard
PREVIEW: Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard was asked what it would mean for Boston to win its first King Trophy. "I think it's time for the Kastles not to win any more," Bouchard told WTT.com. "I'm tired of it, I think everyone is tired of it... no I'm kidding!" But is she really? The Kastles have a 14-match winning streak against the Lobsters, including wins in the 2011 and 2013 Eastern Conference Championship matches.
Coach Murphy Ends Marathon Run with 24 Tennis Clinics
'93 French Open Champ Spreads Love of the Game with Kastles Fans
After leading 12 tennis clinics April 24-26, Coach Murphy Jensen was back at it again May 15-17. From Ashburn to Baltimore, the three-time Mylan WTT Coach of the Year ran 12 more clinics this past weekend, ending his own version of a tennis marathon with 24 clinics over a total of six days.
Each spring, Coach Murphy visits the D.C. area to spread his passion for the game at tennis clubs that help promote the upcoming Kastles season. If you weren't able to rally with the 1993 French Open doubles champion this time around, ask your local club director to call 202-4-TENNIS (483-6647) and request Coach Murphy in 2016.
May 15 at 5:23 pm: Young and old came out to the Middleburg Tennis Club to hit with Murphy Jensen.
May 16 at 1:23 pm: The Kastles' Baltimore fan base is growing at Green Spring Racquet Club.
May 17 at 3:47 pm: Murphy encourages this future Kastle at the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion.

Fans Salute D.C.'s 5-Time Mylan WTT Champions on Twitter
After the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards were eliminated from the playoffs in heartbreaking fashion, Washington Kastles fans saluted the Mylan World TeamTennis champions on Twitter.
Among those who showed the Kastles love were ESPN SportsCenter anchor Steve Weissman and Washington Post sportswriters Neil Greenberg and Jake Russell.
