Karasiewicz Repeats As Player Of The Week
For the second time in three weeks, and the third time this season, Richmond Renegades forward TREVOR KARASIEWICZ has been named by the SPHL as the Sher-Wood SPHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday.
In three games last week Karasiewicz had 1 goal and 7 assists. On Tuesday in Fayetteville, he assisted on all four Renegades goals in a tight 5-4 loss to the FireAntz. Friday night the Renegades again faced the FireAntz but back in Richmond and Karasiewicz assisted on the Renegades only goal in a 6-1 defeat.
On Sunday the Renegades found their scoring touch as they eliminated the Cyclones from playoff contention with a 6-3 victory. Karasiewicz opened the scoring with a power play goal halfway through the first period and assisted on two others. It is the third time this season that Karasiewicz has been honored with this award having received the award for the week ending February 21, 2009 and previously in November 2008.
The Renegades hit the road Tuesday night as they head to Huntsville for their final road trip of the regular season facing the Havoc Thursday and the Cyclones in Winston-Salem on Friday before heading home for their regular season finale on Saturday against the Knoxville IceBears.
Saturday is a busy day for hockey at the Coliseum as the Richmond Hockey Fights Cancer charity game is at 2 pm, the Legends of Richmond Hockey game against the VCU Alumni at 5:30 pm and the Renegades game at 7:35 pm. All upper level seats are $5 and lower level seats $10 as the team attempts to sell out the Coliseum. Tickets purchased from the Renegades or Coliseum box office are good for the Legends and Renegades games and can also be used for the RHFC game with a small donation. For tickets or information call the Renegades office at 804-644-7825.
