WEEKLY SCHEDULE:
The Kansas City Wizards continue their busy stretch of games with matches Tuesday and Saturday. Kansas City plays a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match Tuesday in Seattle before traveling to New England for a game against the Revolution Saturday in a tripleheader at Gillette Stadium. The Wizards will host their weekly press conference Thursday at the team's Swope Park Training Center.

WIZARDS PLAY SEATTLE TUESDAY IN LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP:
The Kansas City Wizards continue their quest for the 2009 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship Tuesday night with a road quarterfinal match against Seattle Sounders FC at 9 p.m. CT. Kansas City met Seattle in the 2008 quarterfinals when the Sounders still played in USL-1. The match was tied 0-0 after regulation and extra time, with Seattle eventually advancing 6-5 on penalty kicks. English-language audio from the match can be found at www.kcwizards.com, and the Wizards will be providing updates throughout the game through the team Twitter account, www.Twitter.com/Hillcrest_Road.
Kansas City is 9-9-3 all-time in Open Cup play, including a 1-2 mark in penalty kick shootouts. The Wizards have scored 43 goals while allowing 29. Kansas City won the Open Cup title in 2004. Midfielder Davy Arnaud, defender Jimmy Conrad and midfielder Jack Jewsbury are the only Kansas City players that remain from the championship team. With Conrad and Arnaud away with the U.S. National Team, only Jewsbury from the 2004 team will be available for selection Tuesday night.
WIZARDS POSSIBLE OPEN CUP SEMIFINAL HOSTS:
If Kansas City wins Tuesday at Seattle, they will advance to face the winner of the Houston Dynamo and Charleston Battery (USL-1). If the Wizards win and Charleston wins, Kansas City will travel to Charleston Tuesday, July 21 for a 6:30 p.m. CT match-up with the Battery at Blackbaud Stadium. If the Wizards win and Houston advances, Kansas City will host the Dynamo Tuesday, July 21 at Shawnee Mission North High School at 7:30 p.m. CT. Possible semifinal round fixtures:

KANSAS CITY TRAVELS TO NEW ENGLAND SATURDAY FOR SOCCER TRIPLEHEADER:
The Wizards will play the New England Revolution for the 3rd time in the last month Saturday as part of an exciting soccer tripleheader at Gillette Stadium. Kansas City is 1-0-1 against the Revolution in the last month, including a 3-1 home win in MLS play and a 1-1 road tie during SuperLiga. The Wizards are 9-5-4 all-time in MLS road games against the Revs, including a remarkable 6-1-4 record at Gillette stadium.
After the Wizards play New England at 3 p.m. CT in a match broadcast live locally on Metro Sports, a pair of national team games will take place as part of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The U.S. National Team will then play Haiti at 6 p.m. CT, with Honduras facing Grenada at 8 p.m. CT. Should Davy Arnaud or Jimmy Conrad play for the U.S. National Team and Roger Espinoza play for Honduras, at least one Wizards player will take part in all three games of Saturday's tripleheader.
ARNAUD, CONRAD, ESPINOZA COMPETING IN CONCACAF GOLD CUP:
Kansas City Wizards midfielder Davy Arnaud and defender Jimmy Conrad have been named to the United States National Team for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup, while Roger Espinoza is representing Honduras in the tournament. Both teams opened with wins on Saturday. Espinoza started and played 68 minutes for Honduras in a 1-0 win over Haiti, while Arnaud played the final 20 minutes for the U.S. in a 4-0 victory against Grenada. Conrad was unavailable for U.S. Coach Bob Bradley due to injury.
The USA faces Honduras Wednesday night at 8 p.m. CT in a match broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel. Fans are encouraged to attend the Jimmy Conrad Show from 7-8 Wednesday at Fox and Hound in Overland Park then stick around to watch the National Team match that could feature players from the Wizards on both sides. Both local 810 Zone locations will also hold watch parties for the game, as they do for each U.S. National Team game courtesy of Budweiser.
Group play wraps up this Saturday, July 11 as part of a tripleheader at Gillette Stadium. Saturday, the Wizards will face the New England Revolution at 3 p.m. CT in MLS play. The U.S. will then play Haiti at 6 p.m. CT, with Honduras facing Grenada at 8 p.m. CT.
WIZARDS HOST KANSAS CITY COLLEGE SHOWCASE JULY 25-26:
The Kansas City Wizards, Raytown Soccer Club and William Jewell College will host the 2nd annual Kansas City College Showcase July 25-26. The event will take place at William Jewell College and the Wizards' Swope Park Training Center. KCW Juniors U-16 and U-18 teams will take part in the showcase. Registration costs $800 per team and includes a voucher for a Kansas City Wizards ticket during the 2009 season. Each team will play three games in the showcase, with at least one taking place at the Kansas City Wizards training facility. To register for the tournament, follow this link.
MODIFIED JIMMY CONRAD SHOW AIRS FROM FOX AND HOUND IN OVERLAND PARK THIS MONTH:
The Jimmy Conrad Show, presented by Budweiser, will air Wednesday night on Sports Radio 810 WHB from 7-8 p.m. CT and simulcast online at kcwizards.com. The show will be broadcast live from Fox and Hound in Overland Park, Kan. during the month of July. While Conrad is away with the U.S. National Team, Dave Borchardt and Sam Pierron will take over the show. Borchardt and Pierron will discuss topics including the Wizards, the U.S. National Team and anything else from the football world. Fans are encouraged to call in during the show. This Wednesday, stick around after the Jimmy Conrad Show to watch the U.S. National Team take on Honduras at 8 p.m. CT on Fox Soccer Channel.

In 2009, the Wizards will take registrations from fans at each edition of the Jimmy Conrad Show for month-end drawings. Prizes will include Field Side Reserved tickets, a clinic from a Wizards player, a Football/Futbol double-header package and a VIP Meet & Greet session after a training session. Each fan can enter that month's drawing each time they attend The Jimmy Conrad Show.
The Jimmy Conrad Show will be held at different bars throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. The show will run from 7-8 p.m. CT each week except for a small number of nights when the time will change due to programming conflicts on Sports Radio 810 WHB.

Wizards Head Coach Curt Onalfo joins Enrique Morales each Thursday at 5 p.m. CT for his weekly Spanish-language coach's show Zone Wizards on Ke Buena 1480 AM. This week, Spanish-speaking fans are encouraged to listen for a recap of last weekend's match against the Houston Dynamo, Tuesday's Open Cup match in Seattle and for a preview of Saturday's game against the New England Revolution.
