Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce the organization raised and donated $14,150 from the 4th Annual Orange Ice jersey auction, which occurred last Saturday (10/27) at Wings Stadium.

Fans were clamoring for all of the K-Wings special Halloween jerseys; however, at the end of the night the three highest bids were for the jerseys worn by forwards Justin Cross, Lucas Drake and Tyler Willis. Cross' jersey received the high bid of $1,250, while Drake and Willis' each went for $1,000.

"Our fans continue to amaze us (K-Wings) with their generosity," said General Manager Wade Welsh. "With close to 5,000 fans at Wings Stadium to see both the K-Wings and our alumni, Saturday was a very special night and the jersey action was a perfect way to cap off the evening."

Charities selected for the Orange Ice jersey auction were American Red Cross, Great Lakes Burn Camp, Ronald McDonald House and SPCA of Southwest Michigan.

Kalamazoo will hit the ice for two home games this week. The K-Wings will host the Flint Generals at 7:30 p.m. this Friday, November 2nd and conclude the week at Wings Stadium this Sunday, November 4th with a 4 p.m. face-off against the Fort Wayne Komets on Meijer Scout Day.
