Alpena IceDiggers News Release

Frisco TX: The North American Hockey League announced on Monday that Alpena forward Justin Stadler has been named North Division Player of the Week.

Stadler struck for two goals and two assists as the IceDiggers ran their winning streak to six games with a pair of victories over Marquette last weekend. On Friday, the 19-year-old scored the game-winning goal and an assist in a 5-3 win. The next night, the Livonia, Mich., native tallied a goal and assisted on Kerry Bence's (St. Clair MI) game-tying goal in Alpena's 4-3 overtime win over the Rangers.

"Justin deserved this award, he played well for us this past weekend and was one of the key reasons we were able to win two very important games on the road." stated head coach Kenny Miller

Defensemen Chris Hendrickson (Hancock MI) was also nominated for the award this week.

The IceDiggers hit the road for three games this week. On Wednesday Alpena travels to Traverse City and on Friday and Saturday the IceDiggers head to Ann Arbor to take on the USA U-17 team. All three games start at 7:00PM.
