
Joseph Cecconi Makes NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings List

MUSKEGON, Michigan (April 7th) - Following the official release of NHL Central Scouting's final rankings in preparation for the upcoming 2015 NHL Draft in June, the Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that Defenseman Joseph Cecconi has cracked the list being one of 39 current USHL players to appear on the final rankings list for the 2014-15 season.
Cecconi, the native of Youngstown, New York and University of Michigan commit, has been included on the three previous publications from NHL Central Scouting this season in the preliminary and November players to watch lists as a "B" rated prospect, or second to third round draft pick, along with the midterm rankings released in mid-January as the 70th-best North American prospect and highest-rated USHL defenseman. Currently, Cecconi sits as the 88th-best North American prospect that includes being the second-highest-rated defenseman and 14th-best overall prospect in the league.
This season, Cecconi has totaled 2 goals and 13 assists to go with a plus-nine rating in 58 games. Through 86 games as a Lumberjack during his USHL career, the former Buffalo Jr. Sabres prospect has recorded four goals and 17 assists to go with a plus-ten rating.
Notable accomplishments this season for Cecconi include performing in the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game held in Dubuque, Iowa on January 13th for Team East tallying an assist in a 7-4 victory over Team West. In addition, the defenseman skated for the United States Under-18 Select Team during the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament before the season began in August helping Team USA capture the bronze medal.
The 2015 NHL Draft takes place June 26-27th in Sunrise, Florida at the BB&T Center, home of the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers.
