Rochester RazorSharks News Release

Rochester, NY. John Salley, new Commissioner of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the first player in NBA history to play on three different championship teams, will hand out the Rochester RazorSharks championship rings to team management, coaches and players in a pre-game ceremony on Saturday, November 18 at The Blue Cross Arena. The defending ABA champion RazorSharks will host the Maryland Nighthawks at 205pm that day.

"We are grateful John will be in Rochester in his new role as ABA Commissioner to help us celebrate our championship season," said RazorSharks owner and General Manager Orest Hrywnak. "John knows a thing or two...or three...about championship rings. We are honored that he would come to Rochester to represent the ABA on this important day."

Salley played both power forward and center for the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA from 1986 through 2001. He proudly proclaims that he has won "three championship rings, with three different teams, in three different decades and two different millenniums."

Salley is currently one of the hosts of The Best Damn Sports Show Period on Fox Sports Network and has appeared alongside Hollywood stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the action movies Bad Boys (1995) and Bad Boys II (2003). He has also hosted a radio morning talk show in Los Angeles and provided analysis for NBC's NBA Showtime.
