Camrose (AB) Fargo-Moorhead Jets' forward Kai Kantola (Raleigh, NC) scored a goal and added an assist for Team USA in an 8-4 win over Slovakia in the first day of the 2005 Viking Cup Tournament in Camrose, Alberta.

Kantola assisted on a goal from Zach Bearson at 5:57 of the first period, then scored a goal himself just 18 seconds later to give Team USA a 3-0 cushion.

The Viking Cup Tournament is held every other year and features national junior hockey teams in a round-robin tournament. NHL stars such as Dominick Hasek and Zigmund Palfy were noticed at the Viking Cup Tournament.

Kantola will return to the FM Jets as early on Jan. 4.

The FM Jets face the Southern Minnesota Express on Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm at the Carlson Coliseum.

The FM Jets are the 2005 Borne Cup Champions and are in their third season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 30th year of operation.
