(Fargo, ND) Collins and Okland put together a much needed weekend in Bismarck.
Offensive: Dakota Collins (Gilbert, AZ) played two out of three games this weekend and netted six points (2G, 4A) in both of the wins. Collins has played in an every other game role thus far but after his two goals and two assists on Saturday night in the 8-1 romp, coach Chad Johnson had reason for him in the line-up Monday night. He assisted on two more Jet goals in the 6-0 shut out.
"Collins has definitely earned his playing time this season and as it has progressed, the season, Collins has gotten stronger on the ice" explains assistant coach Kinslow
On the season Dakota has skated in 17 games providing 11 points (3G, 8A) while maintaining a -5.
Defensive: Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) stayed at home and made game changing saves on both Saturday and Monday night to earn top defensive honors. In the Saturday's 8-1 route, Okland turned aside 32 of 33 shots including a handful during a 5-3 Bobcat power-play when it was 1-0 Jets in the first period. On Monday Okland got the call again providing a 6-0 shut out with 35 saves and another terrific performance.
"In a season where we've needed guys to step up here, Elliott did just that in keeping us up," stated coach Kinslow.
On the season Okland owns a 10-10-1 record with a 2.96 GAA and .917 save percentage while logging 1257:31.
