Jets Hosting Spaghetti on Skates Fundraiser

Fargo (ND) There are countless benefits and fundraisers that take place in the Red River Valley each year, but it'll be very hard to find another as unique as the one the Fargo-Moorhead Jets Junior A hockey team will be putting on in just over a month.
The FM Jets will be hosting their first-ever "Spaghetti on Skates" Fundraiser, Wednesday March 8 at 6:45pm at the John E. Carlson Coliseum. Patrons to the event will be treated to a pasta dinner, served by the FM Jets' players on the actual Carlson Coliseum ice.
All the proceeds from the benefit will go to fund the FM Jets' housing family program.
"This is going to be a fun event and a great way for us to assist our local families who welcome our players into their homes during the season" said Cami Gilbertson, the FM Jets' Housing Coordinator. "The funds raised will help offset the expenditures that the program incurs over the course of the season."
Cost for the event is $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Tickets must be paid for in advance and can be purchased by calling Steve at the FM Jets' office at 235-2354 or e-mailing steve@fmjets.com.
Each season, at least 80% of the FM Jets players come from outside the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area and thus need housing when they come to town. Since FM Jets' players aren't paid in order to keep their eligibility, they need affordable housing and that is where local families come to the rescue.
The FM Jets Junior A Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 31st year of operation. For more information, visit fmjets.com or call (701) 235-2354.
