Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

(Blaine, MN) - At last, the F-M Jets met the Texas Tornado in a rematch of the 2005 National Championship on the final day of the showcase but losing 3-2.

After three straight close games to start the season the Jets were able to get an early edge 1-0 by a snipe from Andy Dittus (Minot, ND) in the first. The lead was not kept long as Texas added a soft back-hander from Sean Roadhouse (Tulsa, OK) to keep things tied through two periods at 1-1.

The Jets went to the box on a tripping penalty by Brandon Bukowski and were able to kill off all but 17 seconds as Ben Miller provided the winning goal for Texas. Not more than two minutes later the Jets were climbing out of a 3-1 hole thanks to Ben Van Lare. Marc Harrie (Fargo, ND) kept things tighter with a tight top right shelf goal with under five minutes to go, but it wouldn't be enough. The Jets finished the same way they did last year losing the first game, winning the middle two and losing the finale in Blaine, MN.

Home sweet home will be next on the Jets' agenda as the Alexandria Blizzard coming crashing into town on Friday the 28th for a weekend tangle; face-off is at 7:30pm. The Blizzard boost a 1-3 record after the showcase salvaging a 3-2 contest to Traverse City on Sunday.
