Jets Add Experience for the Late Push

(Fargo, ND) Defenseman Mason Swenson (Eagan, MN) and forward Kurt Weston (Roseau, MN) join the Jets in late stride to help make a spark.
Swenson played last year for the Wildcats of Eagan and collected 36 points (14G, 22A) for a team that went 17-7-3 overall. Mason also played golf and accepted a roster spot for the Rams of Colorado State and went for it. Hockey was also a passion and dream for Mason but it wasn't until the Jets came calling that he had the urge to play once again.
"He has definitely been an impact since his arrival and adds skill to our defensive game," explained Aaron Kinslow.
Kurt was traded to Keani River from the Bismarck Bobcats for the Harris brothers and then was traded to the Jets from the Brown Bears. Weston played his high school hockey with Roseau Rams appearing in 31 games picking up 49 points (25G, 24A) last season for the state championship. Kurt was named to the all-tournament team as well because he led everybody in scoring.
"I'm thrilled to have been picked up by the Jets because I get to play with Sam Carr and the Thief River boys [Philipp, Bottem and Benedict] again." Being able to play closer to [Fargo] home," proclaims Weston.
"He was a key to their state title run, he'll be a familiar name in the community and were glad to have him aboard," states Chad Johnson.
The FM Jets Junior A Hockey Club is in its fifth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 32nd year of operation. For more information, visit fmjets.com or call (701) 235-2354.
