JetHawks' Win Streak Comes to an End Against Inland Empire

(LANCASTER, CA) - Even with the momentum of a six-game winning streak, the JetHawks were unable to get things rolling on their home field. The Lancaster offense was held to just four hits while Inland Empire pulled away with a seven-run fifth inning as the 66ers defeated the JetHawks 10-1. Even a little rain and a loss couldn't dampen a great Lancaster crowd. Fans, buoyed by the JetHawks highly touted free skateboard giveaway, came out in big numbers as 3,032 enjoyed the festivities at Clear Channel Stadium.
The 66ers jumped out early against JetHawks starter Chris Jones. The lead-off hitter, Trayvon Robinson walked then scored on a double and Inland Empire never trailed. Up 3-1 in the fifth, they pulled away by scoring twice against Jones and five times against reliever Bryce Cox in the fifth inning.
The lone JetHawks run came on a solo homer by Jason Place in the third inning. His 13 home runs are a new personal best. Cody McAllister turned in a strong performance out the bullpen. McAllister retired all ten batters that he faced and matched a career-best with four strikeouts.
The JetHawks continue a six-game homestand Sunday evening against Inland Empire. Tony Bajoczky (4-3) starts for Lancaster while the 66ers counter with Alberto Bastardo (5-5).
